Sherritt explores for, develops and produces oil and gas, primarily from fields situated in Cuba, from which the Corporation produced approximately 95% of its worldwide net oil production during 2008.  Since 1992, Oil and Gas has successfully built its Cuban operations from a modest enhanced oil recovery program into an intermediate exploration and production business that contributes significantly to Sherritt's success.

Sherritt also holds working interests in several oil fields located off the coast of Spain, and has a working interest in a natural gas lease in Pakistan.

As global energy demand continues to climb, Sherritt is actively assessing opportunities to expand and enhance its oil producing operations around the world, as well as searching for new exploration prospects.
